Bobby "Bob" Gene Garrett, age 81, of Winder, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013.
Born to the late Dewey and Bertie Cruce Garrett, he served his country faithfully in the Army during the Korean conflict
. He was former owner of Garrett Construction and retired from the University of Georgia as a carpenter. He was also a member of Morningside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Phillips Garrett; brothers, James Garrett, Harold Garrett, and Jessie Garrett.
Survivors include: his daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Ken Grindle, Connie and Michael Graves, Christy and John Coddington, Cindy Royal; grandchildren, Amy Colson, Garrett Coddington, Jackson and Kaylin Royal; great grandchildren, Kennedy and Kassidy Colson; brothers, Duane Garrett, Bill Garrett, and Donald Garrett; sisters, Colleen Winkler, and Carolyn Crane.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 9 p.m. on Monday, July 29 and 2 – 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30 at Smith Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. J.L. Yopp and Bro. Steve Roberts officiating.
