Alma Laverne Bohanan


Mrs. Alma Laverne Bohanan, age 73, of Jefferson, died Friday, March 8, 2013.

Mrs. Bohanan was born in Knoxville, TN, a daughter to the late William and Ortha Walton Hodges. She graduated from Central High School in Knoxville, TN and was a member of the Galilee Christian Church in Jefferson. She was retired from Gwinnett County Public Schools where she was a lunchroom worker and a paraprofessional in the Dacula Schools. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lewis Bohanan.

Survivors include: her sons and daughters in law, Bentley and Pam Bohanan, David and Connie Bohanan, Greg Bohanan; brother and sister in law, Bob F. and Sharon Hodges; two grandchildren, Joshua and Jared Bohanan.

The funeral service was held on Sunday, March 10 at 2pm in the Galilee Christian Church with Minister Tom Plank officiating. The visitation was held from 1-2pm on Sunday at the Galilee Christian Church, prior to the service. The burial followed in the Barrow Memorial Gardens in Winder.
