Betty Gail Strader, age 60, of Monroe passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012.

She was of the Baptist faith. She was a secretary for the GA Forestry Commission serving Morgan and Walton County's. She also appraised property for the Walton Co. Board of Commissioners. She was a member of the South West Florida Archeologist Society and volunteered at the Barrow County Museum and the Barrow County Historic Preservation Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. John Thomas Hendon Sr. and Mrs. Blanche Sweet McLain Hendon and a sister, Charlotte Bracey.
Survivors include: her husband, Charlie Strader of Bonita Springs, FL; two brothers, Blake McLain Hendon of Monroe and John T. Hendon Jr. of Blairsville; two sisters, Carol Selando of Winder and Jackie Beck of Buchanan; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Ronald McDonald Foundation for Children or The Hepatitis C Foundation.
Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
