SKCM Carl F. Healan, USN, Ret., of Chesapeake, VA Passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013 in a local hospital.

Born in Winder he was the son of the late Franklin and Ethel Healan and husband to the late Ruby Lee Healan. He was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Winder, member of the Fleet Reserve, and Navy Veteran. He loved geneology, fishing, electronics, time with his family, and was an Atlanta Braves fan. He was predeceased by a son Richard Wayne Healan and several siblings, Curtis Healan, Bee Dunlap, Glenn Healan, Lois Crafton, James Healan, Mozelle Sheppard, Doyle Healan, Karene Swafford and Faye Million.
Left to cherish his memory are: four daughters, Anita Llewellyn (Dave) of Chesapeake, VA, Peggy Smith (Warren) of Suffolk, VA Nancy Wilson (Gary) of Panama City, FL and Linda O'Neal (David) of Norfolk, VA; three sons, Donald Phillips (Marty) of Jefferson, Robert Phillips (Ruby) of Winder, and Billy Phillips of Virginia Beach, VA; two sisters, Jean Thomason of Nashville, TN and Joy McDaniel of Bethlehem; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 12 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 13 at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.
