Charles Maurice Stancil, age 68, of Hoschton passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013.
Maurice loved his family and church where he served as treasurer and played the bass guitar. He also played with The Band of Gold, New Heart, Changing Tides and The Taxman Air Force Band. He was a member of the Dixie Cruiser Street Club and the American Street Rodders. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Sarah Irene Stancil.
He was survived by: his loving wife of 9 years, Sharon Phagan Dodd Stancil; son, Charles Ryan "Chuck" Stancil; daughters, Lisa Stovall (Ernie), Tina Hayes (Dwayne), Lisa Campbell (Tony), Kay Davis (Jacob); sisters, Winona Young (Warren), Sylvia DeLong; 7 grandchildren; niece, Rita McDaniel (Phil) and their daughters, Charley, Chelsey, and Cambrey; nephew, Danny DeLong; and a host of other relatives.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 3 at Center United Methodist Church. Rev. Blane Spence, Rev. William Clayton and Rev. Glenn Parrish will be officiating.
