Janice Padgett Snyder, 74, of Athens passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012.

A native of New Castle, IN, Mrs. Snyder was the daughter of the late James and Mildred Barlow Padgett and was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Snyder; sister, Nancy Padgett Fowler, and granddaughter, Nicole Pass. She worked at Flower & Gift Basket for many years and was also employed in the registrar's office at the University of Georgia. Mrs. Snyder was a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: three sons, Bryan Snyder and wife, Kim of Mountain City, Brent Snyder and wife Tammy of Grayson and Bradley Snyder and wife, Rachel of Bethlehem; daughter, Melissa Chalker and husband, Ken of Winder; nieces, Stephani Adams and husband, Dyron of Perry and Amiee Ventura and husband, Steve of Knoxville, TN; sister, Karen Ohlsson and husband, Karl of Marietta; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 nephews, and 1 niece.
Funeral services were held 3 p.m., Sunday, December 2nd in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Brooks officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family received friends from 2 – 3 p.m. prior to the service at Bernstein.
