Jimmy Warren Hunt


Jimmy Warren Hunt, 64, of Winder died Sunday, July 1, 2012.

Born in Griffin, to Frances Hunt of Griffin and the late T.C. Hunt, he was a graduate of O'Keefe High School in 1965. He served in the Army from 1966 – 1969. He then worked as a fireman for City of Atlanta, then was employed by Johns Manville and also served as a volunteer firefighter before leaving the workforce.

Survivors include: his wife, Sheila G. Hunt of Winder; sons, Jimmy Hunt Jr. of Pooler, Wesley Hunt of Winder; daughters, Missy Hunt of Conyers and Jessica Hunt Hanson of San Diego, CA; 11 grandchildren; brother, Ted Hunt of Austell; sister, Linda Hunt Coggins of Griffin; sisters-in-law, Charlene Ray of Hull and Kathy Dockery of Winder; 7 nieces; and 2 nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 9 p.m. Monday, July 2 at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 3 in Smith Memory Chapel with Rev. Billy Ray Banks officiating. Interment will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens.

Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
