Nell Williams Bethel, age 98, of Winder, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013.
During her life, she worked as Assistant Vice President for R & R Manufacturing and was a member of the Board of Directors. She was active in the Methodist church since she was 12 years old and held every position a woman can in the church family. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Melvin Bethel; her first husband, Claude B. "Shug" Williams; parents, Harrison Lee and Jessie Lyle Elrod; daughter, Ann Savage; and brother, Joe Elrod.
Survivors include: her son, George Williams of Bethlehem; four grandchildren, Kathy Camaran, Ronanne Brown, George Williams, Jr., and Vicki Luna; eight great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 9 p.m. on Monday, April 8 at Smith Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 9 at 2 p.m. at Winder First United Methodist Church with Reverends Terry Tippens and Todd McCain officiating. The burial will follow the service at Barrow Memorial Gardens.
