Rodney Gober, 49, of Winder passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012.
Rodney was a member of White Plains Baptist church where he was a Deacon. He was employed by Smith Funeral Home for over 20 years. Rodney was the founder of Gober Music Ministry, founder of Blue Ridge Gospel Music Association and a songwriter with BMI Music. His mother, Emily Allene Gober, precedes him in death.
He is survived by: his father, Raymond Gober of Blue Ridge; his wife of 30 years, Penny H. Gober; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Allison Gober of Winder and Roger and Rachael Gober of Jefferson; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie Gober Wilson and Chris Wilson of Winder; grandchildren, Bradyn Wilson, Alivia Gober, Peyton Gober and Reid Gober; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Patricia Gober of Canton, Ryan and Shelby Gober of Cummings; 5 nieces, 1 nephew and innumerable family and friends.
Visitation was Saturday, November 24 from 5 – 9 p.m. and Sunday, November 25 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 9 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 26 in Smith Memory Chapel. Burial will be at White Plains Baptist Church cemetery.
