Mr. Spurgeon Ray "Spud" Gooch, age 50, of Jefferson died Thursday February 14, 2013.
Mr. Gooch was born in Athens, the son of the late Donald and Doris Toney Gooch, Spud attended Attica Baptist Church and was a truck driver.
Survivors include: daughter, Lauren Rae Gooch of Nicholson; step daughter, Dawn Fleming; sister, Donna "Allie" (Jeff) Wright of Lawrenceville; and a brother, Sid (Karen) Gooch of Olive Branch, Mississippi; Uncle, Dover Gooch of Jefferson; aunt, Dot Craven of Gillsville; and a number nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 23 from 12 – 2 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held after the visitation and upon arrival of the family at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Purcell officiating.
