Thomas Knox "Tom" Hancock, 64 of Jefferson, died Thursday July 25, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Hancock was born in Atlanta, a son to Mrs. Elwyn Warburton Hancock of St. Augustine, FL and the late Mr. Knox Hancock. He was a devoted employee, who loved his job everyday for 20 years at Kraft Foods. Mr. Hancock was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving in the Vietnam War, was a member of the Flippen Methodist Church in Flippen, and attended Pendergrass Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Joy Hall Hancock; daughter, Elizabeth (Rick) Pittard; son, Ross (Lorie) Hancock; mother, Elwyn Warburton Hancock; grandchildren, Breannah, Spencer and Reese; and sister, Jo Masuret.
The funeral service was held on Sunday, July 28 at 2 p.m. at Pendergrass Baptist Church with Rev. Ervin Goss officiating. The interment will be on on Tuesday, July 30 at 11 a.m. in the Cleghorn Valley Baptist Church Cemetery in Virginia.
