Minister Vickie Bernice Harris Walker, 55, of Bethlehem died suddenly surrounded by her mother and her home health care nurse on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at her mother's home in Bethlehem.

She was born on December 14, 1956 in Barrow County, the daughter of the late Ellis (Duke) Harris, Jr. and Jannel Harris of Bethlehem. Her grandparents were the late Ellis Sr. and Pauline Harris of Winder and Johnny and Eunice Berry of Bethlehem.
Vickie graduated from Winder Barrow High School in 1975 and was later employed by Johns Manville Corporation for 20 years. She was recently employed by the Walton County Board of Education as a custodian at the Bay Creek Elementary School in Loganville.
Victoria as she fondly wanted to be called, survivors include: her husband, Ronnie Walker of Bethlehem; son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Laila Harris of Atlanta; daughter, Tiffany Walker of Grayson; three grandchildren, Aaron Williams of Grayson, Dezmand Harris and Cydnee Harris, both of Atlanta; mother, Reverend Jannel Harris of Bethlehem; two brothers and sister-in-law, Michael T. Harris and Veron and Kimberly Harris, all of Monroe; sister, Brenda Harris of Bethlehem; aunts and uncles, Clara Nell Harris, Ruth Harris, both of Winder, Charles and Sarah Colbert, Charlene Harris, Shirley Mathis, Betty Warbington, all of Bethlehem, Emory and Barbara Jean Berry of Lafayette, Johnny and Charlene Harris, Larry and Barbara Ann Berry of Monroe, Jimmy and Dorothy Johnson of Winder; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Walker/Harris family will receive family and friends at the Chapel of Eberhart & Son Mortuary on Wednesday, July 4 from 5 – 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 5 at 11 a.m. at the Appalachee Shoals Missionary Baptist Church located at 553 Tanners Bridge Circle in Bethlehem.
Eberhart & Son Mortuary of 131 King Street, Winder is in charge of arrangements.
