Funeral services for Mrs. Aline Sawyer Robertson of Bastrop will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop with the Reverend Mark Benge officiating. Interment and committal services will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Aline Sawyer Robertson was born September 23, 1917 near the Tillou Community of Morehouse Parish to the late Henry Bussie Sawyer and Hattie Irene Bunn Sawyer. She passed from this life Thursday, May 21, 2009 in West Monroe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney W. Robertson; her parents; a sister, Geneva Sawyer DeFrancisco; and three brothers, Reuben Sawyer, Newton Sawyer, and Mack Sawyer.

Mrs. Aline Sawyer Robertson was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bastrop. Together with her husband, Barney W. Robertson they founded Robertson's Produce in Bastrop in 1947 and operated it for many years. The business they established continues to prosper in its third generation of the Robertson family.

Mrs. Robertson is survived by her children, Karen Robertson Gray of Monroe, Susan Robertson Whitworth and husband David, Flint Robertson and wife Jackie, Jimmy Robertson and wife Nita, Terry Robertson and wife Annette, Michael Robertson and wife Mary all of Bastrop; two brothers, Vernon Sawyer, Sr. and wife Francis and Harold Sawyer and wife Betty all of Bastrop; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Dan Robertson, Keith Robertson, Mark Robertson, Steve Miller, Larry Jones, Charles Whitaker and Jason Crockett.

The family will receive friends Saturday May 23, 2009 at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop beginning at 1 p.m. until time for services.
