Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Maretta Mayo Hayman will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Cox Funeral Home in Bastrop. The Rev. Dalyn Helbling and the Rev. Bill Hines will officiate. Interment will take place at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Hayman was born in Jones on January 23, 1919 and she passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011 surrounded by her family at the LeGrand Nursing Home in Bastrop.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cecil H. Hayman; her parents, William Phillip and Lillie Mae Hayden Mayo; three brothers, J.D. Mayo, Norris Mayo, and Dan Phillip "Buck" Mayo; and one sister, Odell Gilbert.

Mrs. Hayman is survived by her son, Billy G. Hayman and his wife, Yvonne; two grandsons, Greg Hayman and his wife, Roxanne and Stephen Hayman all of Leland, Miss. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren: Chris Hayman of Oxford, Miss., Michael Hayman of Leland, Miss., Anna Hayman of Oxford, Miss., Nicole Hayman of Redding, Calif., Jonathon Hayman of Redding, and Cody Hayman of Ft. Mills, S.C.; her sister, Dorothy Ann Blackman of Bastrop; her two brothers, George Everett Mayo of Bastrop and Mack N. Mayo and wife Virginia of Jacksonville, Fla. Survivors also include many other loving family members and friends.

Serving as pallbearers are Jerry Robertson, John McGregor, Troy Davis, Ray Gambino, Bill Carter and Horace Cheney.
