Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Vickers will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 24, 2010 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop with the the Reverends Jim Ingram and Don Lonadier officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, December 23 at Cox Funeral Home, Bastrop.

Bobby Gene Vickers was born November 11, 1931 in Lockhart, Louisiana to the late Verda McAdams Vickers and James Frank Vickers and he passed away Tuesday evening December 21, 2010 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe following an extended illness.

Bobby was strong in his Christian faith and he enjoyed the fellowship of his church family at First Baptist of Bastrop. Mr. Bobby was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a retired brick mason, and former owner with his wife of Bob and Ann's Grocery in Collinston. He enjoyed hunting and riding horses but his devotion and love was his family. Bobby never missed an opportunity to share time and make memories with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Vickers is preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Heather Nicole Greer; a great-granddaughter, Faith Bell Nettles; son-in-law, Daniel Capotosti; brother, Calvin Vickers; and two sisters, Audrey Denton and Ruth Ann Thomas.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann Vickers of Collinston; his four daughters, Debra Vickers Capotosti of Farmerville, Tammy Vickers Hudson of Daphne, Ala., Rhonda Vickers Dupree and husband Steve of Bastrop, Kim Vickers Greer and husband Heath of Bastrop; six grandchilden, Kristin Danielle Nettles and husband Michael, Steven Matthew Dupree, Jonathan Daniel Dupree, Joshua Phillip Dupree, Emily Brooke Greer, and William Joshua Greer; two great-grandchildren, Heather Sage Nettles and Riley Grace Nettles; and a sister, Marguerite Manning.

Serving as pallbearers are Billy Amons, Billy Manning, and grandsons, Steven Matthew Dupree, Jonathan Daniel Dupree, Joshua Phillip Dupree, William Joshua Greer, and Mitch Leihr.
