On the afternoon of August 12, 2014, Charlotte passed away peacefully at the age of 68, after her battle with Acute Leukemia at the Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
Charlotte Vera Crowell was born on October 2, 1945 in Eros to the late O.D. Crowell and Edna Preston Crowell. She graduated from Eros High School in 1963. She later earned her LPN degree in 1980. Being a nurse was a very fulfilling career for Charlotte, for she loved to take care of others. She was a very caring and compassionate woman. Charlotte had a smile that would light up a room.
She loved good food and cooking for her loved ones. She also enjoyed spending time with her beloved pets, two dogs, Lassie and Max; two cats, Rex and Skeeter; and her goose, Moose. Charlotte enjoyed very much riding her four wheeler with family and friends. She loved to play in the mud, have fun and was one of the best ATV riders around.
Charlotte is survived by her brother, Billy Crowell and his wife, Bobbye; her daughter, Tressie Harper and her husband, Carl and her son, Cecil Reed; three step-children, Arthur Reed Jr. and his wife, Marie, Tina Reed, and Thelma "Liz" Barmore and her husband, William. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Hayley Reed, Cory Deshotel, Dakota Reed, Daryl "Ricky" Barmore, Heather Barmore, Chelsea Reed, Austin Harper, and James Mayes; seven great-grandchildren, Karmen Reed, Madelyn Barmore, Josie Barmore, Austin Barmore, Lexis Barmore, Jeremy Foreman, and Kelsey Lopez; eight nieces, Patricia Corbin, Teresa Redmond, Rhonda Lambright, Toni Doucet, Angie Kelly, Pam Jordan, Lisa Steinwandt, and Cindy Crowell; four nephews, Kent Ripley, Dennis Crowell, Dusty Crowell, and Gene Crowell; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
A time of fellowship and celebration for the life of Charlotte Crowell will be held at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop from 4 until 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2014 The family would love to see you there to help them celebrate the life of their beloved Charlotte.
