Funeral services for Donnie Kimball will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop with Dr. Vic Carter and the Rev. Paul Durbin officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2010 at Cox Funeral Home, Bastrop.
Donnie Wayne Kimball was born January 20, 1950 in Delhi to Brazil "Pete" Kimball and Vivian West Kimball. He passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at home surrounded by his family. Donnie was a retired maintenance employee on the "Bulldog Gang" at International Paper Company. He was an accomplished dancer and enjoyed instructing line dancing and western swing. Donnie, a.k.a. "Animal" was also a member of the Bastrop Bow Hunters Association, the Archery Shooters Association, and a former Bayou State Bow Hunters Association State Champion. He was preceded in death by his brother, Max Brazil Kimball.
Donnie is survived by his parents, Brazil "Pete" Kimball and Vivian West Kimball of Bastrop; two sons, John Kimball his wife, Robin, and their son, Cody Kimball of Tampa, Florida and Mitch Kimball and his wife, Shane of Paducah, Ky.; two sisters, Bonnie Gilly and her husband Mike and Peggy Hurley and her husband Don, all of Bastrop; special friends, Martha Edwards of Monroe and Chris Branum of Bastrop; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are Keith Pylatt, Casey Marus, Jr., Chris Branum, Richard Freeland, Roger Brixey and Scotty Crockett.
