Mr. Fred Marlatt, Jr. of Bastrop, Louisiana died peacefully on October 1, 2011 at the Northeast Louisiana Veteran's Home in Monroe, Louisiana.

Fred Marlatt, Jr. was born in Winfield Kansas July 30, 1922 to the late Isaac Fred Marlatt and Edna Schwantes Marlatt. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bastrop and an Army veteran of World War II serving in the Euorpean Theatre. He was also the retired owner of Marlatt Electric Company in Bastrop.

Mr. Marlatt is preceded in death by: His parents; his wife, Naomi Summerville Marlatt; a grandson, Christopher Jason Marlatt; and two sisters.

Mr. Marlatt is survived by: His daughter Monica Marlatt Thrower and her husband, Tom Thrower; his son, David Fred Marlatt; three grandsons - Dean Fryday and wife, Kristen, Jonathan Fryday and wife, Lia, Paul Michael Fryday and wife, Brittany, David F. Marlatt, Jr. and wife, Katie; a brother, Bobby Marlatt and his wife, Dorothy Marlatt; and a sister, Mary Lou Tom; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Mr. Marlatt will be private for the family at a date to be determined.
