Funeral services for Mr. Grover Cleveland Grimmett were held 2 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2010 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home with the Rev. Britt Dupree officiating. Interment followed at the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Bastrop under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Mr. Grimmett was born September 21, 1922, in Atlanta, Arkansas to the late Sam Grimmett and Alvern Gardner Grimmett. He passed away December 24, 2010 at LeGrand Health Care in Bastrop.
Mr. Grimmett was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church and a retired paper finisher with International Paper Company. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served aboard the U.S.S. Maryland during World War II.
He is preceded in death by: His wife, Yolanda M. Grimmett; his parents; and six siblings, Lizzie Jones, Elouise Thompson, Charlie Grimmett, Harvey Grimmett, Ivy Estes, and Lucille Hardy.
Mr. Grimmett is survived by: Two sons, Ricky Grimmett and his wife, Delane of Monroe, Ronnie Grimmett and wife, Cynthia of Natchitoches; his daughter, Jeannette Grimmett Orr of Fairbanks; seven grandchildren - Rick Grimmett, Ryan Grimmett, Forrest Grimmett, Morgan Grimmett, Anna Chapman, Mendy Gossett, and Sonja Miller; and sisters, Louise Jones of Bastrop and Mae Rouke of Port Barre, Louisiana.
Serving as pallbearers were Brian Henry, C.W. Thompson, Roger Jones, and grandsons, Rick Grimmett, Ryan Grimmett, Forrest Grimmett, and Morgan Grimmett
