Funeral services for Mr. Harry "Mickey" Bonnett were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. The Reverends Ricky Bonnett and Ezra Cook officiated the services. Interment with military honors will be at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery. The family received friends from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.
Harry Mitchell Bonnett was born June 12, 1948 in Monroe to George Edward Bonnett and Dorothy McKoin Bonnett. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on March 14, 2014 at his home in Bastrop. Mr. Bonnett was preceded in death by a daughter, Suprena Michell Lynn.
Harry Bonnett was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served during the Vietnam War and an electrician with Avondale Shipyards in Tallulah. "Mickey," as he was affectionately known, was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was also a loving son and brother. Harry especially enjoyed the good times shared with family and friends while deer hunting.
Mr. Bonnett is survived by his wife Irene Bostick Bonnett; his two daughters, Amanda Sharp and her husband, John and Jacquelyn Bonnett and her husband, Michael Murray; eight grandchildren, Colby Sharp and his wife, Christen, Lauren Hatcher and her husband, Ian, Stephanie Sharp, Destiny Sharp, Kierlynn Murray, Isaac Murray, Devyn Lynn and Zachary Lynn; his parents, George and Dorothy Bonnett; two brothers, Wayne Bonnett and his wife, Retia and Russell Bonnett and his wife, Wanda. Mr. Bonnett is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and a host of extended family.
Serving as pallbearers were Kenneth Stephenson, DeWayne McKnight, Neil Bonnett, Chris Bostick, Rodney Blood and James Sharp. Honorary pallbearers were Harold Sharp, John Sharp and Colby Sharp.
