Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Virginia Poston McKoin will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2010 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop with the Revs. A.J. Fulton and Todd Wooden officiating. Interment will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.
Helen Virginia Poston McKoin was born February 21, 1927 in Pleasant Valley to the late Archie Perry Poston and Minnie Johnson Poston and she passed away on Friday morning October 8, 2010 at her home in Bastrop. Mrs. McKoin was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She attended the First United Pentecostal Church and was retired from her first and only job after 42 years of service as a bookkeeper at Bastrop Feed and Seed.
Mrs. McKoin is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joe Frank McKoin; her daughter, Gloria McKoin; a son, Frankie McKoin and his wife, Judy all of Bastrop; a granddaughter, Mindy McKoin of Los Angeles, Calif.; two grandsons, Kris McKoin and his wife Ginger, and their children, Kaylee, Kristopher, Karson and Kolin and Jason McKoin and his wife, Michell, and their children, Jacob and Jayden all of Bastrop; two brothers, Clyde Poston and Clayton Poston; a sister, Dora Poston Pouncey and a two nieces, Elizabeth Pouncey and Patsy Pouncey all of Downsville.
Serving as pallbearers are family and friends.
For those who wish the family suggest memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
