Funeral services for Mrs. Irene J. Fife, age 83 of Bastrop were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Central Church of Christ with Mr. Waymon Swain and Mr. Buddy Frost officiating. Interment followed in Christ Church Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at Central Church of Christ.

Mrs. Fife, a member and retired secretary of Central Church of Christ for 34 years, passed away Monday, December 30, 2013 in Bastrop. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Harkness and husband Tim of Collinston; sons, Brad Fife of Collinston and Milton Fife and wife Amber of Bastrop; sister, Jeanell Best of Morrilton, Ark.; brother, Charlie Johnson and wife Peggy of Bastrop; grandchildren, Shalene Harkness, Chad Harkness and wife Lou Ellen, Dane Harkness, Eric Walker and P.J. Fife; nine great-grandchildren; special nieces, Pam Stokes and Florene Vinning and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Fife was preceded in death by her husband, Jewel Fife; her parents; sons, Patrick Eugene Fife and Gary Lee Fife and four brothers, Woodie, J.W., Irie and Junior Johnson.
Serving as pallbearers were Lloyd Swain, Terry Tanksley, Kenneth Looney, Tanny Tully, Chad Harkness and Dane Harkness. Honorary pallbearer was Mark Goodson.
