Funeral service for Mr. John Carlton Williams, 90, of Bastrop will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2013, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe with the Rev. Rubin Weaver officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2013, at Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Mr. Williams passed away on December 21, 2013 at the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. Mr. Williams retired as a 1st Mate Pipeline Dredge Jadwin with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. After retirement Mr. Williams was known in Monroe area for his skills of building BBQ Pits.
Survivors include his two sons, Richard Dwayne Williams and wife Doris of Bastrop and his two daughters, DeJuana Harper of West Monroe and Jennifer McMeans and husband Brian of Flower Mound, Texas and Stephen L. Williams and wife Linda; his son, John C. Williams all of Texas; five great-grandchildren; and brothers, Jim Williams, Charles Williams, Clyde Williams, Tommy Ray Williams and Jerry Williams.
