Funeral services for John L. McWilliams, 72, of Bastrop, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009 at St. Mary C.M.E. Temple Church with the Rev. John D. Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Loche's Mortuary Inc.

Visitation will be held between 5 and 6 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2009 at Loche's Mortuary Chapel.
Mr. McWilliams, a retired Borden Diary employee, is survived by his two sons, the Rev. Michael McWilliams Sr. and wife DeSha of Jonesboro, Ga., and Terry Matthews of Bastrop; four daughters, Barbara N. McWilliams of Houston, Texas, and Pamela Smith and husband Nathaniel, Vanness McWilliams and Tina Twine, all of Baton Rouge.; two sisters, Gloria Harden of Freeport, N.Y., and Dr. Theresa Lee Holmes of Gastonia, N.C.; one brother, Sam Willims and wife Betty of Marksville; one aunt, Ada Craig of Bastrop, and a special friend, Lula Mae Harris of Bastrop.
