Johnnie Q. Hill, formerly of Mer Rouge, passed on January 2, 2011 in Blackwood, NJ.
She was educated in the Morehouse School System, and later married Q. C. Carr. They lived in California for some years and returned to Mer Rouge. Finally leaving Louisiana for good, Johnnie Q. resided in Chicago for over fifty years.
She is survived by her daughters, Nazie M. Cook (N.J.), Hazel L. McNair (Calif.), Wanda L. Murry and Tanja Blaustein (Ill.); 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; brothers, George and Hugo Lawson; beloved Rodgers nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. She will be missed by all.
