Funeral services for Joshua "Nutt" Issacs Rice will be 2 P.M. Thursday, May 10, 2012, at the Tillou Baptist Church with Reverends Robert Wood and Rick Tyler officiating. Interment will follow at Causey Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.

Joshua Isaacs Rice, a welding contractor, was born May 1, 1977, in Bastrop, Louisiana, the son of Tommie Rice and Phyllis Isaacs Rice. He passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Joshua was a member of Tillou Baptist Church and a graduate of the Bastrop High School Class of 1995 and a former employee of RIMCOR, M.L. Smith, Inc., and Rowan Offshore Drilling. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joshua and Bernice Rice; maternal grandparents, George and Helen Isaacs; an uncle, Billy George Rice and an aunt, Virginia Price.

Joshua is survived by his son, Clayton Isaacs Rice and a daughter, Gracie Maria Rice both of Heber Springs, Arkansas; his parents, Tommie and Phyllis Rice of Bastrop; a brother, Richard Adam Rice and his wife, Heather Flowers Rice and their son, Maddox Waylon Rice all of Bastrop; two aunts, Janice Pearson and Levetrys Bolin both of Bastrop; five great uncles and aunts, Jimmy Edgar and his wife, Mary Beth, Fawn Ray Jones and his wife, Hazel, Yvonne May, Sheila Jones all of Crossett, Arkansas, Mae Goleman of Ferriday, Louisiana; ten first cousins; and a host of extended family and numerous friends.

Serving as pallbearers are Mark Rice, Daniel Pearson, Mitchell Pearson, Loren LeBrun, Damon Spigner, and Britt Pittman.

Honorary pallbearers are Steven Steele, Hank Rice, Dale Foster, Mike Pittman, Hamp Neel, and Travis Allred.

The family will receive friends beginnign at 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at the Tillou Baptist Church.
