Funeral services for Mrs. Judith Faye Hobson Carter will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Interment will follow at the Carter Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Cox Funeral Home, Bastrop.
Mrs. Judith Faye Hobson Carter, an activity director at Bastrop Rehabilitation Hospital, was born October 3, 1946 in Monroe to the late John Thomas Hobson and Elsie Jewel Garland Hobson. Mrs. Carter passed from this life into heaven on Sunday November 7, 2010 surrounded by her family at her home in Sterlington. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, J.E. Hobson.
Judith was a devoted wife and mother of 47 years. She was a strong Christian with an abiding faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. A Baptist preacher's wife for 44 years, she loved living at 9 Oaks Plantation with all her brothers, sisters and family.
Mrs. Carter is survived by her husband Dr. William Vic Carter; her three children, Tracey Delaney and her husband, Mike Delaney, Donna Ryder and her husband, Barry Ryder and Andy Carter; six grandchildren, Dustie Lasyone Navarro, Ginger Ryder Roan, Jasmine Ryder, James Michial Delaney, Paige Delaney and Jade Ryder; two great-grandchildren, Justus Roan and Ryder Roan; seven sisters and brothers, Patricia Hobson Slayton, Jimmy Ray Hobson, Darlene Hobson Carter, Tommy Hobson, Jerry Hobson, Ronnie Hobson and Reggie Hobson; a brother-in -aw, Larry Roy Carter; and aunt, Vivian Garland Smith.
Serving as pallbearers are Jimmy Hobson, Tommy Hobson, Jerry Hobson, Ronnie Hobson, Reggie Hobson and James Michial Delaney.
