Funeral services for Mr. Logan D. Weible, age 90, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, La., with Bro. Jim Bell officiating. The Patriot Guard Riders will participate in the graveside rites at Old Sarepta Cemetery, Sarepta, La. under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, La.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 12, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home.
Mr. Weible was born on August 7, 1923 to John Logan and Gracie Pearl Jordan Weible in Bunker, Mo. and passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014 in Bastrop, La.. He was a former resident of Caldwell Parish and was a graduate of Grayson High School. He was a resident of Sarepta for many years, a member of the New Sarepta Baptist Church and served as Sarepta's Mayor in 1985 to 1986. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army; was retired from International Paper Company with 38 years of service and also worked for Pinkerton Investigating Services and Burns Security.
He is survived by daughters Dianne Slack and husband Danny of Texarkana, Ark.; Nancy Peterson and husband Charlie of Bastrop, La.; Debbie Cox and husband Rusty of Bastrop, La.; granddaughter, Robin Williams and husband Chris of Baton Rouge, La.; two grandsons, Russell Cox and Chase Cox both of Bossier City, La.; two great-grandchildren, Gray Williams and Ellie Williams, both of Baton Rouge, La.; and sister LouElla Ivy of Cleveland, Tenn..
Mr. Weible was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 62 years, Doris Maynor Weible, brothers, John Weible, Ted Weible, Sanford Weible and R. D. Weible; sisters, Agnes Weible Bolton, Mildred Weible Simpson and Edna Weible Tynes.
Pallbearers will be Jabo Alford, Chris Williams, Gray Williams, David Joe Wright, Russell Cox and Chase Cox.
