Funeral services for Loraine Ramsaur, 79, of Ruston, La. will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston with the Rev. Jerry Hilbun officiating. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. in Christ Church Cemetery in Bastrop under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 27 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home.

Loraine was born in Floral City, Fla. on May 2, 1930 and died in Ruston on July 25, 2009.

She was raised in Bastrop and moved to Ruston in 1954 with her husband and son Jack. Loraine was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She enjoyed participating in the DMA (Don't Mention Age); Lydia Circle; and M & M group.

Loraine is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John Clark Ramsaur.

Loraine is survived by her children, Jack Ramsaur and wife Sylvia of Germantown, Tenn., Leah Beth Clark and husband Mike of Calhoun, and James Ramsaur and wife Laura of Ruston; grandchildren, Angela Kerr and husband Nathan, Allison Ramsaur, Matthew Ramsaur, Melissa Ramsaur, and John Ramsaur; great grandchildren, Tristan and Jackson Kerr; sister, Earline Bagwell of West Monroe, La.; three nieces and a nephew.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at the Russ House for their care and thoughtfulness. Also, especially to Dr. Larry Neal, Dr. Shane Phillips, Dr. David Osafo; the Chemo Staff at Green Clinic; and Hospice of Caring Hearts for the care and support they gave Loraine during her illness. A special thanks for all the love, care, and time that Frankie Hamilton spent with Loraine.
