Funeral services for Mrs. Marjorie Jones Swartz will be held 2 p.m., Monday, March 23, 2009 at Bailey Mortuary Chapel, Haynesville, with Dr. L.H. "Bro Mac" McCollough officiating. Burial will follow at Old Town Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary. Mrs. Swartz passed away in Dallas, Texas, March 19, 2009 at the age of 83.

Mrs. Swartz was born in Haynesville on June 16, 1925 to Ruby Goodwin and G. W. "Doc" Jones. She and her family lived in Bastrop for many years before moving to New Orleans and then to Dallas, Texas.
Marjorie worked as a government auditor for several years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 22,2009 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. and also, on Monday, March 23, 2009 from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Preceding her in death were her parents and one sister, Francile Wainwright.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Roy L. Swartz of Dallas, Texas; daughters; Sue Swartz Cowan and her husband, Howard, of Lubbock, Texas, Debbie Swartz Burge and her husband, Mike, of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Douglas Jones and his wife, Betty, of Haynesville; grandchildren: Eric Cowan and his wife, Amy of Dallas, Texas; Greg Cowan and his wife, Teresa of Baltimore, Md., Tieise Rodenbucher and her husband, Dana, of Wolfe City, Texas, Hannah Hereford and her husband, Carlton, of Katy, Texas, Ben Burge; and seven great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Cowan, Greg Cowan, Ben Burge, Dana Rodenbucher, Carlton Hereford and Joe Schendle. Honorary pallbearers are Scott Jones, Greg Jones, Eddie McFarland and Nicholas McFarland.
