A memorial service for Mark L. Carter will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Bonne Idee Assembly of God in Mer Rouge.

A former resident of Mer Rouge and Ouachita Parish, Mark went home to be with the Lord on October 8, 2011.

Mark was a devoted Christian who worked faithfully with the Rev. Jerry and Rita Stuckey. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked in the oilfield most of his life.

He is survived by: His mother, Clara M. Carter; a sister and brother in law, Elizabeth and Jim Hudson; sister in law Missy Carter; his wife, Anita Carter; his stepchiildren, a host of nieces and nephews and his life-long friend of 47 years, Sandy Savannah.

He is preceded in death by: His father, Ted L. Carter; brother Joseph A. Carter; grandmothers Nelly Rowtin and Annie M. Carter; grandfather Willis A. Carter; and aunts Wilhemina Legget and Catherine Dorell.
