Funeral services for Maxine Evans Bond, 87, of Buford, Ga., will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2011 in the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, Ga. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford. Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bond passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011.

She was a 1940 graduate of Haynesville High School. She was a co-owner of Dixie Cleaners in Bastrop for over 20 years, a member of First Baptist Church of Bastrop and a member of Philadelphia Winn Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, in Lawrenceville, Ga. She was also an avid bridge player and most recently a resident of Lake Springs Assisted Living in Buford.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, John S. Bond of Buford; daughter and son in law Johnette Bond Alex and husband Gary of Dacula, Ga.; grandchildren Evans and Rene Howell of San Cruz, Calif., and Gregg and Cynthia Alex of Salt Lake City, Utah; as well as nine great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northeast Georgia Hospice or to First Baptist Church in Bastrop in memory of Maxine Evans Bond.
