Funeral services for Mrs. Melba Ann "Granny" Robertson will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2014 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Reverends Bobby Alexander and Jeremy Myrick will officiate the services. Interment and committal will follow at Mer Rouge Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m.. Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Cox Funeral Home, Bastrop.
Melba Ann Robertson was born December 11, 1931 in Mer Rouge to the late John Henry Victory and Lou Ella Smith Victory. Mrs. Robertson passed away, surrounded by her family, on June 19, 2014 at Glenwood Medical Center in West Monroe. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clifford Victory and Henry "Diego" Victory; a nephew, Charley Victory: and in-laws, Edmond and Ellen Robertson.
Ms. Melba was a lifelong member of Hillview Freewill Baptitst Church in Bastrop. She loved her church, her family, and especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Robertson was loved and cherished dearly by her family and friends. She will be missed.
Mrs. Robertson is survived by her husband of 55 years, Loyd Robertson of Mer Rouge; two daughters, Vickie Morman and her husband, Paul of Mer Rouge and Nancy Culver and her husband, Gary of Bastrop,; four grandchildren, Amanda Simmons, JoAnna Gill and her husband, Jason, Heather Culver, and Jarrod Culver; five great-grandchildren, Clayton Tubbs, Amelia Simmons, Parker Gill, Lawson Culver and Kortland Culver; a brother, Wayne Victory; very special nieces, Beverly Murphy and her daughter, Lacy Amos; Dewanda Bryan and her daughters, Sherry Bryan Campbell and Lori Lara, and Cindy Victory; and nephews, John Victory and Clifford Victory. Ms. Melba is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Jarrod Culver, Clayton Tubbs, Jason Gill, David Bryan, Doyle Murphy and Chris Chunn.
For those who wish the family suggest memorials be made to the Hillview Freewill Baptist Church, Bastrop.
