Funeral services for Mr. Menice M. "Buddy" Rawls are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 19, 2018, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Andy Myrick officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. service time.

Mr. Rawls, a resident of Bastrop, was born February 16, 1940, and passed away at his residence Thursday, August 16, 2018, at the age of seventy-eight. He was a retired Major in the United States Army and enjoyed playing music with the Country Legends Band at local nursing homes. He was a member of the Morehouse Country Club and loved golfing, fishing, and playing music.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Menice Rawls, Sr. and Maude Burgess.

Survivors include his daughter, Denise Rawls Desantis, of New York, NY; son, Kenneth Scott Rawls, of Portland, OR; sister, Shirley Rawls Evans, of White Hall, AR; and grandchildren, Marinna Rawls Desantis, and Michael J Desantis.
