Funeral services for Michael G. White of Bastrop will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2010 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Collinston. Interment will follow in H.V. Adams Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 29 at Tennant Funeral Home in Bastrop.

Mr. White was born January 27, 1954 in Monroe to Mrs. Lula Mae White Edwards. He passed away Monday evening, July 26, 2010 surrounded by his family at his home in Bastrop. Michael was a graduate of Delta High School class of 1972 and retired as a General Mechanic with International Paper Company where he was employed for 35 years.

Mr. White was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Dean Cotton; his stepson Kenneth "KT" Johnson; and an uncle Richard White.

He is survived by his wife, Debra White of Bastrop; son Brian White, one stepson, Jimmy Turner Jr. of Bastrop and a stepdaughter Alinya Edwards (Keith) also of Bastrop; one brother, Henry Cotton; four sisters, Connie White, Sonya White, Oretha Thomas (John) and Elaine Williams (Lester) all of Bastrop; his mother in law, Esther Jackson of Bastrop; and a number of other relatives and friends.
