Richard Neal Adams, age 84, of Bastrop passed away Friday, October 31, 2014 at the Northeast Louisiana War Veteran's Home in Monroe. Mr. Adams was born Feb. 4, 1930 in Bastrop to the late Benjamen Wyatte Adams and Lillian Montgomery Adams. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Laura Ann Adams Frisby. Graveside services for Mr. Adams will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 3, 2014 at the Old Town Cemetery in Haynesville, Louisiana.

Neal was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Louisiana Tech University. He enjoyed his job and the opportunities he had to help others through his work. He served many years as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Morehouse Country Club and the Bastrop Lions Club. His favorite past-time was walking around the Bastrop Square. He will be greatly missed.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Pat Adams; his two daughters, Pam Adams Fair and Ann Adams Stelter and her husband, Jay Stelter; three grandchildren, Heather Fair, Drake Stelter and Jacee Stelter; and a great-grandchild, Landon Bollingham. He is also survived by his uncle and aunt, Raymond and Charlotte Adams, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family was held Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.
