Funeral services for Mr. R.W. Lloyd, 85, of Bastrop, will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2009 at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Bastrop with the Reverends Bo Horne and Steve Speer officiating. Interment will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, January 1, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home.
Mr. R.W. Lloyd was born June 29, 1923 in Monticello, Ark. to the late Willie Calhoun Lloyd and Beuna O'Fallon Lloyd. He died December 29, 2008 at his home in Bastrop. He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mrs. Virginia Lloyd; his parents; nine brothers and one sister.
Mr. Lloyd was a retired store room clerk with International Paper and self-employed roofing contractor. He was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Bastrop, a Army veteran of World War II, and a Master Mason with the Mt. Gerzim Lodge #54. His family will forever remember him as a loving husband, father, and "Pa".
He is survived by his two daughters, Sandra Solomon and husband Mike of Bastrop and Vicki Gray and husband, Danny of Benton, Ark.; eight grandchildren, Todd Solomon and wife, Kasey, Dede Smith and husband, David all of Bastrop, Brooke Hobby and husband, K.C. of Benton, Ark., Jason Hall and wife, Rhea Ann of Sheridan, Ark., Clinton Gray of Benton, Ark., Jeremy Gray and wife, Christina of Benton, Ark., Casey Greene of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, and Bill Gray of Benton, Ark.; a brother, Jim Lloyd of Chalmette, Mass. and 17 great-grandchildren.
