Funeral services for Ryan Witherington will be 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2011, in the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home with Dr. Dwight Munn officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery of Bastrop under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.

Ryan was born November 27, 1973, in Bastrop to Roy Hollis Witherington, Jr. and Jeanette Moore Witherington. He passed away November 10, 2011, in Monroe.

Ryan was a member of the Prairie View Academy Class of 1992 and a veteran of the United States Navy, serving aboard the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt.

Ryan was preceded in death by: His paternal grandmother, Vera Katherine Witherington and his maternal grandparents, Albert Devon and Agnes S. Moore.

Ryan is survived by: His parents, Roy and Jeanette Witherington; two brothers - Hollis Witherington and wife Beverly and Chandler Witherington and his wife, Kasey; nieces and nephews, Katie and Anna Claire Witherington, John Collin, Luke, and Sarah Elizabeth Witherington, Jamie Nichols; a great-niece, Jenny Nichols; paternal grandfather, Roy Hollis "Pete" Witherington; aunts and uncles, Kathy Gilbert and her husband Gary Gilbert, and Wanda Turner and her husband Don Turner.

Serving as pallbearers are Kory Gilbert, Garrett Gilbert, Chris Turner, Jason Turner, Shawn Ouellette, and Chris Bennett.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time on Sunday, November 13, 2011 beginning at 2:00 p.m. until time for services at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.

The family requests memorials be sent to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home.
