Funeral services for Walter Williams Jr., 63, of Bastrop will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the H.V. Adams cemetery. A quiet hour will be held from 7-8 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 at Tennant Funeral Home, Bastrop.

Walter Williams Jr. was born on September 17, 1947, the son of the late Walter Williams Sr. and Sylvia Neal Williams.
He attended OLHC Catholic School. He acknowledged Christ as his personal savior at an early age and united with the OLHC Catholic Church under the leadership of the late Father Pat. Later he moved to Detroit, Mich., where he spent several years and later moved to Texas and lived briefly.
After moving to Louisiana, he met and married the former Joann Kennedy. Together they raised five children and one grandson. Walter was described by all who knew him as a "people person," who loved to talk and, without a doubt, he was loved by many. He was caring and protective of those he loved. He was a former employee of the Bastrop Inn as a maintenance worker.
Walter Williams Jr. departed this life on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the Glenwood Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Walter and Sylvia Williams and his daughter, Wakisia Deshun Morrison.
Walter leaves to cherish his memories his loving brother , Edward Williams (Virginia); three daughters, Taneshia Hunter of Detroit, Mich., Chasity Kennedy and Erica Kennedy; three sons, Antonio Kennedy of Virginia Beach, Vir., Frederick Kennedy (Verlie) and Eric Kennedy (April); 13 grandchildren, Taneshis, Otis, Pareshia, Kendra York of Detroit, Mich., Antonio Kennedy Jr. of LaGrange, Ga., Javia and Jalen Kennedy, Raniya Ross, Daria Wilson, Shenquila Morgan, Frederick Rashad Kennedy Jr. and Erianna and Ariael kennedy; four great-grandchildren, Alayah, Ma'kilah, Trenady, Jaylah and Jay'ahana of Detroit, Mich.; one niece, Naomi Williams of Detroit, Mich. and two nephews, Timothy and Andy Williams.
