Alvin was a remarkable person who embodied many of the personal qualities that are becomming more and more rare in our society. He was a true craftsman who took pride in his work. He always followed the principle that "If a job is worth doing, then it's worth doing right." He was also a loyal fringd who spared no effort to assist anyone he knew who needed help. And he was a great competitor who liked to win but who also saw competition, win or lose, as an opportunity for bonding and sharing. It was my privelege to be his partner in some great Whist games. I'll miss my friend Alvin but I know that he's gone on to his reward in a better place, a place where his work will always be appreciated, where he'll be surrounded by friends and where he'll have lots of opportunities to play Whist. I just hope that he saves a place at the card table for me.

Dear Kevin and Family, We were so sorry to read of your Dads passing. I did not know him but I could tell from the way you always spoke about him that he was a wonderful man. His legacy are his children, all fine and honorable people. I'm sure he must have gotten great pleasure knowing
that and that you will all be together again some day. You are in our prayers.

I know how much you have dreaded this day. You always held your pawzi in such high regard and you thought that life for you would end the moment he passed, but your pawzi has prepared you for this moment your entire life. Every butt chewing every time he hugged you and talked to you, encouraged you he was preparing you to be the man you have become. The Doucette Family is strong and you guys love each other so hard you will get through this. Be there for one another like you have always been and know now he is in a much better place Doni now has her pawzi with her. You all will be together again One Big Loud happy family. Praying for you Kev.

The last time we spoke Uncle Alvin told me to always remember how much he loves me. He called me his Angel, his Heart, and his Dahlin' all in one sentence. :) I will miss my Uncle Alvin. I will miss calling him on his birthday and hearing how happy he was that I remembered, that I called. He always made me feel loved and special and he showed me what a man looks like. He taught me how to play Concentration when I was a little girl. I would even spend the night with him and Auntie Theresa. He stood next to me and hugged me as we all prayed together at Lil' Roland's grave site. I have many sweet memories and I will reach in, pull them out, and ponder them when missing you gets to be too much, Uncle Alvin. And one day, we'll make new memories. I love you. You're my Heart, too!

To our favorite patient at OBMC. We love you so much. No one else can bring smiles to our faces and make our job so enjoyable as you did. My heart breaks from the news of your passing but is joyful for your life in heaven. Please continue to look upon us as we lay our hands on people every day. I know you will never forget the laughs we had. My condolences to you and your family. Thank you for touching my life and the lives of my fellow nurses. Your presence will be sadly missed. We love you, Mr. Doucette.
