Mr. Aubrey Glen “Bimbo” Lewis was born on December 16, 1956, to the parentage of Mrs. Ella Hayes Lewis and the late Ellis Lewis, Sr. in Lake Charles, Louisiana. ‘’Bimbo”, as he was called, was the seventh child born to this union. He was baptized, at an early age, at the Mount Olive Baptist Church by the late Reverend White. He departed this life on February 17, 2006, in Ville Platte, Louisiana.
Bimbo married Dorothy Lemelle on December 16, 2004, and resided in Ville Platte, Louisiana. They were members of the 9th Street Baptist Church in Ville Platte, Louisiana.
Bimbo leaves to cherish his precious memories his mother, Mrs. Ella H. Lewis of Lake Charles, Louisiana: three sisters, Mary L. Lovings and Carl Lewis (Michael) Jones of Houston, Texas and Wanda Lewis (Eddie) Kennison of Lake Charles, Louisiana; four brothers, Hama ( Bridgett) Hayes, Curley (Rose) G. Lewis, Sr. of Houston, Texas, Roy; Lewis, Sr. of Dallas, Texas and Ellis Lewis, Jr. of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Also, Four Brother and one sister were reared with the family; Leo, Michale, and Jimmie Morris and Ervin Melancon, Jr., all of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Kimberly Evette Wilson of Houston, Texas; two aunts, Elma Grant and Rozena Whitfield, both of Houston, Texas.
Bimbo did not have any children of his own, but he was blessed with Twenty-five nieces and nephews, thirty-five great-nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends. Bimbo loved to fish, wash cars, joke around and was a great handyman. He never met a stranger for he embraced all as a friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Lemelle Lewis, Father, Ellis Lewis, Sr., and two sisters Lena J. Jackson and Helen L. Leger.
