Audrey Hansen passed away at age 87 on June 8, 2020 surrounded by family and friends. She was born Audrey Dorothy Majdoch on July 8, 1932 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Blanche (Nowak) and Frank Majdoch.
Audrey graduated from Notre Dame Catholic High School in 1950 and attended Marquette University in Milwaukee. She had a beautiful singing voice and was a member of school and church choirs all of her life. While employed at the Allen Bradley Company in Milwaukee she had the opportunity to be a member of the Company choir and she travelled to various cities around the country to perform. One of the places was Southern California and she vowed that one day she would go back to live there.
Audrey married Robert (Bob) Arnt Hansen in 1955 in Milwaukee. They raised four children: Karen, Christopher, Janice, and Keith. In keeping with her desire to live in Southern California, the family moved across the country, eventually settling in Lakewood, California in 1967. Although Audrey and Bob divorced, they remained good friends until Bob passed away in 2004. Audrey’s beloved second husband, Lou Whittaker, who lived life to the fullest, passed away in 1995.
Audrey was a very beautiful, independent, strong, and talented woman. She was an Executive Secretary for Purex Corporation in Lakewood for over 30 years. Once retired, she was able to enjoy her usual pastimes: reading, painting, home improvements, part-time work at the Long Beach Convention Center, Church activities, going to the movies, visiting with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and travelling. Most significantly, Audrey was a choir member for over 50 years at her beloved parish, St. Cyprian Catholic Church in Long Beach, CA.
Audrey was a devoted mother. Her children attended St. Cyprian Catholic Grade School, and then on to St. Joseph and St. John Bosco High Schools. The family was very active in the church, participating in choir, altar serving, church plays and carnivals. She gave her children many opportunities. They were active in sports, Boy Scouts, Camp Fire Girls, karate, dance lessons, piano lessons, and acting lessons, etc. Audrey instilled in them a wonderful work ethic and all four went on to be very successful adults in their careers, marriages, and raising children of their own. Audrey was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Audrey is survived by her children, Karen (Pasquale) Mastantuono, Christopher (Sheri) Hansen, Janice (Andre Scruggs) Hansen, and Keith (Jessica Peterson) Hansen. Grandchildren, Logan (Kelli) Hansen, Lisa (Olga Aiello) Hansen, Melody (Joseph) Arellano, Anthony (Octavio “Tony” Castelleja) Hansen, Alexis Mastantuono, and Pasquale (Shelby) Mastantuono II. Great-grandchildren, Wyatt Arellano, Landen Hansen, Brock Arellano, Isabella Hansen-Aiello, Hazel Elise Hansen-Aiello, Siena Mastantuono and Pasquale Luca Mastantuono.

So sad to come across this obituary. I grew up listening to Audrey's beautiful soprano voice, every Sunday at 9am mass at St. Cyprian's Church. She was very stylish and chic. Beautiful family. My mom sang with her and my dad was the choir director. My heartfelt condolences to her children, Janice, Karen, Keith and Chris. We had great parents, didn't we! Best, Ruth Gard WIlliamson
