Betty Holzbaur, 84, died on April 17, 2018 in Ithaca, NY.
Born Edith Graeff on January 26, 1934 in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, Betty was the eleventh and youngest child of Harry and Florence Foy Graeff. Family lore claims that her mother loved the name Edith but her father took one look at the newborn baby and said "She's no Edith: she's a Betty!" And that was that.
Betty hated snow, cats walking on kitchen countertops, and the Phillies losing. She loved going out to eat, hosting the entire extended family for Christmas Day and summer picnics, baseball (and by 'baseball' we mean Phillies), watching Steven play first base, vacations and especially Disney World. She loved Disney.
Betty is survived by her husband Harold Holzbaur; her children Linda, Steven and Donna; Steven's wife Stephanie, and Donna's husband Royal Westwater; her grandchildren Grace, Nat, Anna, Eleanor and Nat's wife Kim Ritter, Sam Holzbaur and Max Westwater; great-grandchildren Vienna, Leona, Feiras and Theo; her honorary children, dear cousins Nikki and Eddie Gurt, Eddie's wife Dawn and their children Emily, Hannah, Brady and Allison of Horsham PA; her brother Lewie Graeff and his wife Betty of NJ; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews scattered around the country.
