Charles Flanagan Obituary

Charles R. Flanagan died on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. He was 61 years old.

Born in Elizabeth, he was a lifelong resident of the Avenel section of Woodbridge Township.

Mr. Flanagan was employed as a groundskeeper at Clover Leaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge for the past two years; and previously been employed by the Conoco Phillips Refinery in Linden for many years.

He was a communicant of Saint Andrews Catholic Church in Avenel; and a friend of Bill W.

Mr. Flanagan was predeceased by his parents, Robert P. Flanagan in 2004 and Harriet DeWitt Flanagan in 2000; and a brother, Robert P. Flanagan II, in 1992.

Surviving are his children, Laura Jean and Daniel C. Flanagan, of Avenel; a nephew, Robert Paul Flanagan III; his former wife, Claire E. Flanagan, of Freehold; a daughter in law, Meaghan Lynn Flanagan; and a grandson, Dylan Olsson.

A Funeral Liturgy will take place on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Andrews Catholic Church, North Madison Avenue, Avenel. Entombment will be in Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel.
