Charles Korostynski, Sr. Obituary

Charles E. “Charlie K” Korostynski, Sr., on October 14, 2018, of Brigantine, NJ; formerly of Camden, NJ. Age 76.

Beloved husband of the late Angela M (nee Dramis). Devoted father of Charles E. “Chuck” Korostynski Jr. (Charlotte). Loving pop of Caroline and Lucinda.

Charlie graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Camden in 1960. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired as a detective from the N.J. State Police. He was the owner of two restaurant & night clubs in the 1970’s, Yesterday’s and BLEEP’S. After serving as an Agent in the NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement, he formed his own detective agency, International Security Consultants. He was a proud member of American Legion Post #396 in Brigantine, NJ, a lifetime member of the Marine Corp League in Oceanville, NJ, a member of the Former N.J. State Trooper's Association, and a member as well as past president of the Polish American Citizen's Club of Camden County, NJ.

While he had many hobbies such as golf and travel, his true passion was salt water fishing. Charlie K. felt truly at home on his boat at Bayside Marina in Brigantine, or out with his crew competing in a bluefish tournament.

A celebration of Charlie’s life will be arranged in the coming weeks.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlie’s memory to NJ Former Troopers Heritage Foundation at http://www.njftheritagefoundation.org.

Chuck and family, so sorry with deepest sympathy in the passing of Charlie. He was the best neighbor anyone could ask for. A real first class guy. Will always remember our chats as he was sitting on his deck and I was watering my plants. Anything we can do to help in any way don't hesitate to ask.

Korostynski family, my condolences to all. I had the pleasure of working with Angela for many years and I fondly remember the great stories she had about her and Charlie. Not a month goes by at work where I don't mention a story Angela told me about their time together. All the best.

Dear Chuck, Charlotte, Caroline and Lucinda, so very sorry for your loss. He loved you all dearly, and would tell me stories and showed me pictures of you all and tell me how proud he was of all of you. He was such a good hearted person who told it like it was. I will miss fishing with him and miss our talks. He will be missed, until we meet again!

Charlie was my State Police Classmate in 1965. We had such a small class that all members were very close and never forgot one another over the years. We last saw each other at our 50th class reunion. Great time being back together for some fun and laughter and happiness. Well meet again someday old friend, surly we will. John LAIRD #1998
