Ricky & Teresa,
So sorry to learn about your dad. One of the most outstanding things that I can remember about him is that he always complimented you both and was very proud of you. He was a true friend to us and will never be forgotten. Faye Daniels

Delmus was a kind and honorable man, and a true "car guy". He always liked having the fastest Corvette in Macon, and his love for cars was perhaps only surpassed by his love for his wife. I will truly miss him.

Delmus was truly a legend among the hot rodders in this area. Although I had only heard his name at the time I remember the first time I met him. In 1969 I was at RC Vance's station on Napier avenue and heard a loud car nearby. Looking up the street I saw a gold 1969 L88 Corvette pulling out of a side street and heading that way. It rumbled into the parking lot, rattling the windows in the building, and out stepped Delmus. We became good friends over the years, mostly because of our common interest in Corvettes. In the mid 80's when I finally located and purchased the Gold L88 Corvette that Delmus bought new I had the priviledge to take his picture with it. The car still resides in my garage where it will remain. When I've shown it over the years at various shows from local to national events it has always had the sign stating "original owner, Delmus Sutton". Now you join Scooter, RL, William, Bobby, Jackie and the other great car guys in the sky. Fairwell old friend.

It's hard to believe that Delmus is gone. He was one of those men that you just thought would be here forever. I will miss those bear hugs and stopping by to chat with him at the lot. He & my Dad knew each other thru the PD. He saw my oldest son grow up and they talked "fast cars" - but only fast Chevrolets. He even sold Josh his Camero that he still races at Reynolds. D always said he wanted to go see him race. Now he will be watching over all of us. We will miss him.

To the Sutton family,
Although it has been many years since I have seen Delmus I will always remember him as a great guy and a great friend. Delmus knew no strangers, only people he had not yet met! The world needs more people just like Delmus - he left all of us too soon.
God Bless ~

I am going to miss Delmus so much. Jeneanes just won't be the same without seeing him walk through that door and order his black coffee with banana pudding, or his bowl of watermelon. A special, sweet, and wonderful man is now in heaven.
