Doris Kaiser Obituary
She was born Oct. 25, 1942, in Jacksonville, the daughter of the late Charles Russel and Annette Eva McLean Curtis. She married Michael W. Kaiser on Dec. 4, 1965, in Jacksonville and he survives.
She is also survived by two daughters and one son, Susan Renee Fedor (husband, Mark) of Mount Prospect, Michael Shawn Kaiser (wife, Shelby) of Chatham, and Alicia Dawn Kaiser of Schaumburg; her grandchildren, Justin Michael and Kristen Nicole Fedor, and Maddisyn Grace, Brayden Jay and Taelyn Makay Kaiser; three brothers and two sisters, Harold Curtis (wife, Virginia) of O'Fallon, MO, Gary Curtis (wife, Betty) of Austin, TX, Kenneth Curtis of Jacksonville, Jeanette Dolen (husband, Eddie) of Winchester and Janet Lynn (husband, Mike) of Virginia; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Frederick Jay Kaiser; and sister, Barbara Crews (surviving husband, Robert of Hillsboro, OH).
Doris was a 1960 graduate of Jacksonville High School. She was a member of the Church of the Visitation in Alexander, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a past officer of the Altar and Rosary Society. Prior to her retirement, she and her husband owned and operated Mike Kaiser Trucking. She was also retired from Elliott State Bank and served as secretary of the ad hoc committee establishing the Routt and Our Saviour School Board. She was instrumental in obtaining treated water for the Village of Alexander.
Doris was a George Strait fan, going to several concerts with friends. She enjoyed her winters in Florida, camping, watching sports, and was an avid reader. Doris loved her family and extended Kaiser family along with many friends.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at the Church of the Visitation in Alexander, with burial at Calvary Cemetery in Jacksonville. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday at Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, where the family will meet friends 3-6 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held 2:45 p.m. prior to the visitation. Dear Mike and family,
I just now heard of Doris passing. I feel so bad that I wasn't there to show my sympathy to the family. I will dearly miss her. She was an amazing woman. She and Jay are reunited now and will be watching over all of us. Some day we will all be together again. My prayers and sympathy go out to the family.
