Ethel E. Mincheff (Nee Magnone), the last surviving daughter of Marino Magnone and Elena Greco de Magnone, went to sleep one night and woke up in heaven with her beloved husband, Mario Mincheff, adoring siblings, Carlos, Elsa and Hilda and loyal friends Kaila, Tango and Daisy.

She is survived by her daughter Gabriella, grandchildren Mathew and Alexis, son Steven and his wife Despina. She will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina Mario and Ethel embarked on the adventure of a lifetime, arriving in the United States in 1960. Settling in Manhattan, they had a wonderful life, soon moving to Palisades Park to fill a house with love, laughter and their children.  Life took a turn for the worst in September of 1979 when Mario, by now a successful Construction business owner, passed away, and Ethel was left to forge her way alone. Of course, she did so successfully, finding work at Pathmark, and, her favorite, Alexander’s department store as a ticket maker. This enabled her to put her children through college.

In 2006 Ethel downsized to a condo in Mahwah, to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.

Once again on the move, 2018 found Ethel turning hipster, trekking down to Brooklyn, where she spent time with Steven, and enjoying the company (and cooking) of Despina, Maria, Kalliope and Pantelis Dontas.

I remember Ethel as a loving, warm hearted woman. And Mario was such a special man that we named our son's middle name after him, Lyle Michael Mincheff. Just like Roger and Ronald, he is a cousin to Gabriella and Steven. Warm regards, Joyce Short
