Not sure what to say?

Hi Harry...happy you are with Jan...you were right, when I didn't need the weight anymore, it would literally melt away...355 to 227 and still losing...

Thank you Harry for everything you did for me...

You are my Robin Williams and I am Matt Damon...I am calm and serene today...YOU ARE A HUGE REASON...WANTED YOU TO KNOW THAT...

I love you Harry....

Always,

John William Shegonee

Harry was in Boy Scouts with me in Cranston, RI - Troop 7 thru Phillips Memorial Baptist Church. He always had a story to tell.

Dr. Me was what I called him because he signed all his e-mails with "Me." Harry was a piece of work, to say the least. I will miss the banter and my guess is so will he. Fair seas & following winds, Dr. Me.

Obituary

Harold's Obituary

Harold “Harry” E. Doweiko, 64, formerly of Onalaska, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018, after a ten-year battle with a brain tumor.

Harry was born and raised in Rhode Island and moved to the Midwest in 1976 to begin graduate school and remained in the Midwest since that time, earning his doctorate from the University of South Dakota in 1982.

Harry was an avid amateur astronomer since childhood and held a lifelong interest in history.  As an adult, he became interested in paleontology.  He was an author of minor consequence.  Although he was introduced to golf late in life, he became an avid, if unskilled, golfer.  He began to work as a psychologist in 1982 and continued to work as a psychologist until April of 2013.  Harry had an offbeat sense of humor and regrets being unable to share additional jokes with friends and coworkers.

Harry is survived by his mother, Gertrude Doweiko; four brothers, James (Nancy, deceased), David (Lorraine), John (Dorothy), and Donald; and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Harry James Doweiko, and his beloved wife, Jeanette “Jan” M. Doweiko.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 10th, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 515 Main St., Holmen.  Rev. John Parr will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Onalaska City Cemetery.  Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Saturday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, appropriate donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
