Harold Frye Obituary
Harold E. Frye, 91 of Avon Lake, died Monday, October 8, 2012 in EMH Avon Health Campus following a sudden illness.
He was born November 28, 1920 in Radnor, Ohio and moved to Avon Lake from Cleveland in 1951. Mr. Frye received his bachelor degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1943 and his Masters from Harvard Business School in 1947.
Mr. Frye served in the Army Communication and Cryptograph office of Strategic Services during World War II in the China, Burma, and India Theater of War. During the Korean War, he was a Navy Lieutenant Commander in the supply.
Harold was a member of the Avon Lake United Church of Christ and was a member of the churches' Board of Deacons. He was a member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge 18, Delaware. He enjoyed fishing but his passion was Avon Lake Shoremen football.
He was an assistant manager for Sears and Roebuck in North Olmsted for 25 years. Harold was a mail sorter for the U. S. Postal Service for 10 years. He was a licensed security broker for Bancapital in Parma for 8 years.
Among the survivors are is son Craig Frye of Saint Charles, Michigan, sister Betty Marsh of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his of 56 years Florence Frye (née Roché) in 2005; his parents James and Eva (née Smith) Frye and a son Gerald Frye in 1998.
He will be interred with full military honors Tuesday at 1 PM in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Rittman, OH 44270.
